San Francisco Bay Area, CA - Transiris, a leading global marketing technology consultancy, announced today that advertising agency veteran, Ted Kohnen, has been appointed President of the Transiris Marketing Agency. Kohnen teams up with Transiris CEO, Silvian Centiu to optimally integrate technology and creative marketing. Along with the executive-level appointment, Transiris will move its current marketing services offering under the new name, Retina (a Transiris Company).


As President of Retina, Ted is charged with the integration of a world-class marketing technology offering that includes AI, marketing automation, CRM and business intelligence and data solutions with award winning marketing strategy, creative and brand/demand go-to-market solutions. Retina is built to dramatically disrupt the marketing and advertising agency model with its technology-first DNA and powerfully efficient operating model.


A native Manhattanite turned San Franciscan, Ted Kohnen (39) has become known as the agency growth specialist. For the past 11 years he was at global B2B agency, Stein IAS, where he was Chief Marketing Officer and then Managing Director, overseeing offices in the US and China. He launched the agency’s San Francisco office in 2015 and was the youngest Managing Director in the agency's 45-year history.

Over his career, Ted has led key account wins and assignments with ADP, Boeing, Centurylink, LG, NCR, Oracle, Tata Consultancy Services, Weight Watchers and Western Union.


Additionally, Ted serves on the Board of the ANA Business Marketing, Northern California chapter.


Ted earned his B.A in International Business and Management from Dickinson College and his M.S. in Technology Management from Columbia University.
